Now Hiring Assistant or Associate Faculty (2011-09-26)

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Mississippi State University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications, to be part of the Public Administration Core faculty. This is a full-time, tenure track appointment beginning August, 2012.
The Department is interested in candidates who have a commitment to teaching a wide range of public administration courses; we have specific interest in candidates capable of instruction in, but not limited to, human resource management, public budgeting and finance, and non-profit management in public administration and public policy. We are seeking individuals who will demonstrate a strong interest in developing a national reputation in scholarly research and a commitment to teaching excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and maintain a strong research agenda.

Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should hold an earned doctorate and have strong teaching and research potential; those at the Associate Professor level should have an earned doctorate and demonstrate proven teaching and research excellence. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
The teaching load will be a standard two courses per semester (2/2) with other responsibilities including department, college, and university service functions as well as working with doctoral candidates. The successful candidate should possess the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues in a multi-disciplinary department where access and diversity are important values. Salary is competitive. The Department especially encourages candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.
